Questions to Ask Before Choosing a Senior Living Community

Before shortlisting a community, it helps to ask a consistent set of questions across every option you're considering, so you can compare answers directly rather than comparing marketing tone.

On contracts: What exactly is being sold — purchase, lease, or rental? What is refundable, and under what conditions? On healthcare: Is a doctor on-site, visiting periodically, or only reachable on-call? Is nursing available 24/7? On cost: Beyond the entry cost, what recurring charges apply, and are there mandatory extras?

On location: How is the community connected to hospitals and family — and is that distance independently confirmed or simply stated by the operator? On overseas support: Can the entire evaluation and booking process be completed remotely if you live outside India?
